Their debut album, “Give It Back To You” proves something most contemporary rock records forgot: groove is the engine. As a power trio, this band strips rock music down to its structural core. There are no oversized arrangements here. No layered studio excess. Just bass, guitar, drums, and the discipline to let rhythm do the heavy lifting. The album’s opening track “Off The Ground” immediately establishes the blueprint as a hypnotic bass groove carries the song forward while Chris Vos delivers his vocal lines with casual authority. Alex Stiff anchors the groove with stoic, funk-driven bass while Marc Cazorla’s disciplined drumming keeps the rhythm tight. Vos’ guitar doesn’t try to dominate the track. It punctuates the rhythm instead and the result feels like music built for movement rather than spectacle. This philosophy runs through the entire record. Standout tracks include “Don’t Let Me Get Lonely”, which leans into a rockabilly shuffle that feels lifted from the barroom floor, and “Rita Mae Young”, which builds a heartbreak narrative over snare-heavy rhythms and lap steel accents. This song unfolds as a slow-burning, atmospheric piece, which is rooted in the trio’s clever blend of old-world blues instincts and fresh modern restraint. I was standing in a place I had dreamt of since I was a kid, the stage of the Pabst Theater in my home state of WI.🐄 We were in front of my family, friends, neighbors from childhood, and more. The night is burned onto my heart within my mind forever now. This whole run has been…in a word.. beautiful - and there is more to come. Our performance of “Baby I’m Broken” at our Living Room Concert filmed before we released ‘Give It Back To You’; in the very room we recorded the album. We invited some friends from the local scene and filmed the entire concert. Our performance of “Baby I’m Broken” at our Living Room Concert filmed before we released ‘Give It Back To You’; in the very room we recorded the album. We invited some friends from the local scene and filmed the entire concert. Playing with and meeting Charlie Musselwhite, wow, such an honor. What a life he has lived, what a treasured soul and musician. An example, we admire John Lee Hooker so much, well...he was the best man at Charlie's wedding. That is how he has rolled in his life. Not only playing with the masters, but being a dear friend with them. I was blown away to meet him. It took all I (Chris) could do to pick my jaw up off the floor as Charlie told his stories, prompted by my childlike questions about his friends. Friends to him, but to us, musicians we idolize: Muddy Waters, Little Walter, JB Hutto, and on and on. Unforgettable. We also had the pleasure of meeting @kirkfletchermusic, someone we've been admiring for years an amazing player and kind kind spirit. Catch Charlie's new record with our friends in @ga20band.
