The Sharks immediately get one of the best goalies in the league still in his prime and the Jets get a key piece to add to their top six... And take a gamble on a former first-round goaltender. I don't know what happens behind closed doors but this Connor Hellebuyck situation isn't sitting great with me, and I'm sure I'm not alone here. He's contractually obligated to play for the Jets. I would imagine Chevy has been shopping him all summer and obviously hasn't been getting the value he knows Helle's worth in potential trades. The Jets just lost any leverage they had left and now might have to move him for peanuts? I love Helle but if the value isn't there, the Jets shouldn't be forced to move him. Guess that's just the business.

IF (and that is IF) Connor McDavid were to get traded before his new contract expires… The Montreal Canadiens make the most sense to me. They’re already contenders and have the assets to make it happen without compromising their current roster too much. They also have one of the best goaltending prospects in the game to send to Edmonton. This team is one more elite centre away from being at the top of the top, and McDavid would fit in like a glove. He could still bring the Cup back to Canada, just in blue, white… and red 🔵⚪️🔴
